Each year the South Australian Junior Soccer Associations (SAJSA) hold inter-association State and Country Championships for member associations.
All AHJSA Clubs are invited to send players to trial for AHJSA Representative Teams Development Squads. From These Development Squads the final team for the State and Country Championships will be chosen, however the remaining squad members will continue to train with the team as a squad. Development training will use the Football Federation Australia's National Football Curriculum and be delivered by fully qualified coaches.
In order to ensure that the AHJSA is represented by its best players in an age group players must trial in their correct age group. Playing in their correct age group also ensures that players will have the opportunity to be observed by Country Zone and State coaches.
The SAJSA eligibility requirements for selection in State and Country Championship Representative Teams are as follows:
“To be eligible player must have played a minimum of 50% of the games between the previous years equivalent championship, be a registered player for the current year and to have played a minimum of 50% of the games in the current year to the date of the championship.
Exceptions to this are where a player has not played for the Association in the previous year through, injury, absence from the state, transfer from another Association or simply just not played. In this instance a player then only has to play a minimum of 50% of games in the current season to the date of the championship and be a registered player of that association.”
Parents should be aware that there is a cost of $90 for players chosen in representative teams. The cost includes shirt, shorts, socks and ball. Optional additions are a bag for $30 and a Jacket for $85.
Important Note:
Parents should be aware that players participating neither the AHJSA local competitons or the State and Country Championships are not covered for medical insurance nor ambulance expenses as the costs are prohibitive. Parents should arrange their own cover if thought necessary. All competitions are of course covered for public liability.
