The Adelaide Hills Junior Soccer Association (AHJSA) is based in the Adelaide Hills region of South Australia.
Our objectives are to promote, develop and govern Junior Soccer in our region, as a District Association affiliated with the South Australian Junior Soccer Associations. Our matches are subject to FIFA rules as well as our local Competition Rules.
We organise games and development activities for both boys and girls the Under 8 to Under 17 years age groups. Our playing season for local games begins at the start of May and ends in September of each year. District representative teams for both boys and girls selected from the member Clubs compete each year against teams from other district associations at the South Australian State Championships and South Australian Country Championships. We administer the Football Federation South Australia's (FFSA) Centre of Excellence for the Adelaide Hills Zone. This Centre of Excellence provides intensive skill training for two selected squads, one for under 12 boys and one for under 12 girls. The object of these squads is to provide the participants the opportunity to be considered for selection in the FFSA's Country State teams. We currently have thirteen member Clubs in the AHJSA. Use the Club Pages links in the right hand column for contact details and ground venues. Many of the member Clubs cater for beginner players (Under 7 years) by providing junior development training based on the small sided games format but conducted within the club only. An all girls' soccer league competition ("G League") was introduced in 2000. Girls are also able to compete in all the open leagues. Modified rules, including a smaller field of play, apply to games played by age groups up to and including Under 10 years and Under 11G. Games played in those age groups are officially treated as non-competitive matches. The Football Federation Australia's small sided game format is used for under 8s. Teams in the Under 11 years open and above age groups, including Under 14G and Under 17G, take part in League competitions on Saturdays, with points accumulation determining the end of season League winning teams. Teams in these age groups also take part in the Association Cup competition, which is a knock out competition played throughout the season. A seven aside Carnival for all age groups is held in September each year after the season ends. Parents and caregivers need to be aware that AHJSA does not insure players against personal injury during matches or other events. We advise parents and caregivers to arrange adequate medical and ambulance cover for their children. |
