Where do I start?
It's not beyond you. Referees and Assistant Referees just like the players must undergo intensive training to reach the top in their profession. It has to start somewhere! And here is your starting point. South Australia Football Referees have the support of coaches, a recruitment & development officer and experienced referees to assist them to reach their goals. Take the next step!
The career path for a referee starts with a level 5 introductory course, consisting of three 2 hour theory sessions followed by a short examination at a fourth session. After that you then join the AHRB and complete the Level 4 course that focuses on the pracitical side of refereeing. The Adelaide Hills Junior Soccer Assocition offers a 50% subsidy towards the cost of the Level 5 course provided that the applicant is nominated through an AHJSA member club and joins the AHRB on completion of the training. Who can attend the courses? Football is a game for EVERYONE. Men, women, boys and girls are all welcome to register and attend the introductory courses. The only restriction is that you must be at least 14 to become a member of one of the Branches. Special arrangements can be made for groups wishing to undergo training, including Schools, Clubs or other organisations. First step?
