Match report
The last round of the season saw Stirling United travel to play against Woodside Warriors. The conditions were not great with fairly heavy winds and some on and off rain. The game started off strong from each team with both teams missing a few early shots. Possession went both ways but Stirling was the first to capitalise on a few Woodside errors. Woodside continued to play well and had the ball in their forward half a lot but could never manage to get a good shot on goal to challenge the keeper. Stirling's backline was hard to breach and they continued to build pressure when going forward, with fast attacks and finding space in between the Woodside defenders. Stirling put a few more in the back of the net before half time as the rain started to fall. Woodside started the second half strong and both teams played high quality football. Woodside scored after perseverance and pressing. However Stirling United were too strong and kept putting in the goals. One of which was a long range beauty of a knuckle ball. The game finished 6-1 to Stirling but both teams played well and had scoring opportunities at both ends. United came out the more accurate and clinical at the right times.
