Match report

Clear blue skies and a gentle breeze greeted Hahndorf White and Mount Barker Blue for their game at Anembo Park on Saturday morning. 
It was the teams' first meeting of the season and it turned out to be an even matchup with Mount Barker showing early promise in a back and forth game. 
Luca Cannavo's defensive game was strong in resisting the Mount Barker attack while goal keeper Rikki Henry made some important saves. 
Hahndorf looked dangerous on the counter attack with some good runs in the first half from Christopher Haynes supported by Emlyn Gilroy, but neither side could find a goal.
Hahndorf started the second half well with some good midfield work from Liam Sickerdick and Angus Mifsud setting up Levi Beesley and Henry up front but Mount Barker were making chances too with some fine attacking play against the Hahnorf Whites.
A well worked passage of play, starting deep in defence from Oliver Aylen found its finish with a great goal from Henry - strong and high into the net. It was a goal that separated two evenly matched teams enjoying a close game with each other.
With only 8 players in the squad Hahndorf tired in the later stages as Mount Barker subs pushed for an equaliser but Hahndorf held on to their one goal advantage till the final whistle
