In dry but cool conditions, the game started off with two corners for Woodside before Woodside started of with a clever goal caused by a quick move forward. Hahndorf’s defense was tested numerous times by some great foot skills from Woodside. Harrison Gould moved the ball forward, but Woodside’s defense remained strong. Hayden Lien had a long shot on goal following a Hahndorf corner kick. Toby Files made a great save in goals from a strong kick by the opposition. Some great work in defense was performed by Ryley Neumann and resulted in a long kick at goals by Lien. Thomas Filipowicz had another shot shortly after. The Woodside goalie then made a great save from a strong kick at goals by Gould. Great defense from Filipowicz stopped Woodside from a second goal. Good defense work from both teams saw Woodside leading 1-0 at the half time break.

Woodside made a strong move forward early in the second half before Neumann and Bodie displayed some great foot skills to move the ball deep into Hahndorf’s forward line. Lien had another shot on goals shortly after. Hahndorf cleared a Woodside corner before Jacob Gardner worked well in defense to stop another move towards goal by Woodside. A great pass towards goal by Lien was covered by Woodside shortly after. Woodside defended well to stop another shot at goal by Gardner. After a brief injury stop, Hahndorf showed some great team work to move the ball forward followed by a shot on goal by Neumann. Woodside quickly responded with Filipowicz making a great save in goals.

Patrick Hinze hovered up forward ready to score and a powerful pass by Lien off a free kick resulted in another shot at goal by Gardner. After some more great team effort through the centre and forward, Neumann slammed home Hahndorf’s first goal. Files showed some strong effort and great skills in controlling the ball to keep it off a number of Woodside players through the centre. Bodhi Potezny showed fantastic skills as an U9 fill in.

Both teams displayed great defense work late in the game before the final whistle blew with a draw 1 all.
