with a fantastic winter day and both teams ready to get stuck into what would be a very tight game it was the perfect atmosphere for some great Hills junior soccer.

the Nairne Knights got away early with a quick goal, but by the 14th minute the Rams got one back to be even 1-1. The smaller size of the pitch favoured the knights with their bigger players shutting down the rams fast running game, and with no space to run their familiar tactics were not breaking through. the Rams Defence held though and fast recovery for the long knights kicking game kept the Rams in it.

the second half saw a change of ends and a change of tactics when the Rams adopted the Knights tactic of kicking long through and over the traffic. Knights scored two unanswered goals and the Rams were against the wall 1-3. dominant play from the gutsy Rams midfield running player Cooper Mugford and Ben Kramer containing the strong attack left the defence to kick it long and high to capitalise on the small field creating options for the wings and attack with two quick goals in two minutes drawing the scores even 3-3. the smaller Rams were struggling to break though and an injury in a tackle to the hattrick scoring Aiden Williams saw him carried off. with a few minutes to go neither team was able to break the tie.

it was an exciting game and very closely contested.
