What a way to finish the season! Hahndorf under 12 whites owned the game. From start to finish the team was full of energy and determination. ..and wow what a game. Julian Hack scored 6 goals with the support of Max Oliver, Logan Maxwell and Lucas Leske. Maxwell also scored a sensational goal.

Our defence team were rocking also. Will Whiting scored a goal from a defence position. Oliver Dahmke, Griffin Turnball, Charlie Harvey and Harry Mumford played fast and hard and only permitted Strathalbyn to score once. Zoe York was full of energy and enthusiasm as usual and helped keep Hahndorf in possession.  Riley Bowden as always dived and defended fiercly in goal keeper.  Amazing team work today.

Big thanks to coach Ben Dahmke and fill in coach Jeremy Hack.

The final game of the season was played today at pine avenue between Mount Barker Red, and Hahndorf Black. It was an excited and hard fought game. Mount Barker played excellent soccer and were the better side on the pitch today. Hahndorf played with the same courage and heart they have displayed all season, every player ran hard all game, and should feel proud of an excellent final game, and outstanding season.

Woodside Warriors Soccer Club (0) vs Strathalbyn Strikers FC Inc (5)

It was a blowy day for the last match of the season, and a difficult
contest for the Under 12s up against one of the strongest teams.

The opposition's first goal was unfortunately off one of our players and
was shortly followed by another that snuck past. Our goalie Barnaby
Bevan had his work cut out for him, but was up for the challenge, making
some brilliant saves. The duo of Max Davis and Sid Cotton, were solid up
front and had some shots at goal. Eddie Moylan and Dom Silvestri also
came tantalisingly close, but were either blocked by the defence or
caught offside. They were down 4-nil by the second half, but were not
about to give up.

James Lunnon was a star performer down the wing, and put on impressive
speed to chase the ball or move it back down our side. Mack Ollsen put
the pressure on the whole game against a danger player, and with the
support of Troy Murray, Israel Maxwell, Jett Warren, and our other
defenders locked down their strikers in the second half, only allowing
one more goal past.

The progress the team has made in the final weeks of the season and
their determination to keep going despite the odds was demonstrated in
this last game. Well played everyone.

Torrens Valley Soccer Club (5) vs Mount Barker United Soccer Club Blue (0)

Hard to believe this is the end of the season, a great day and a lot of excited players. The Rams won the toss and they kept that momentum for the rest of the day.

The first half was a long hard battle with both teams not giving an inch and the Rams being halted on all attacks until Cooper Ward Snuck one through. Leaving it 1-0 at the end of the first half. And then the rams found their groove in the second half with another 4 unanswered goals. the score did not reflect the intensity of the game, nor did it tell how even the teams were. The Rams finsihed the game 5-0 and the season as #4 in Division 1. Thier best result in a few years.

Strathalbyn Strikers FC Inc Red (1) vs Murray Bridge United Soccer Club Gold (1)

It was always going to be a battle of wills between Strathalbyn Strikers u14 Red and Murray Bridge Gold in their final game of the season fighting for the top position.

With both Strathalbyn and Murray Bridge unbeaten this year it was up to Murray Bridge to maintain their lead on the ladder with either a win or a draw.

With a favourable wind at their back, Murray Bridge put pressure on Strathalbyn from the start of the first half using their tailored style of long ball play. It eventually paid off for them securing a goal before half time. The first half was not without a fair amount of drama with Strathalbyn unlucky to convert goals by the narrowest of margins.

Second half however was an altogether different game. Strathalbyn dominated the game with great teamwork and solid possession throughout and were rewarded with a goal themselves, taking the score to 1-1. Now the battle was really on!

Murray Bridge's play amped up and some questionable tackles were a sign of the cracks appearing.

Murray Bridge only needed a draw to secure their spot at the top of the ladder.

Shots hitting the post and bar from the Strathalbyn team and some great saves by their keeper were a clear indication of

control over their opponents but alas at the final whistle the score remained even.

Both teams unbeaten this year but at the end of the day Murray Bridge had Strathalbyn on points.

It was an exciting end to the season and credit to the players from both teams for putting on a show.

Final score:

Strathalbyn 1 - Murray Bridge 1

Woodside Warriors Soccer Club Blue (0) vs Mount Barker United Soccer Club Blue (1)

It was a glorious Saturday morning for the final game of the season for this young U14 warriors team. With a change of location earlier in the week, the team headed to Cornerstone College for this fixture. The Warriors knew it was going to be a tough game after getting away with a draw last time these teams met, in the dying moments. With the Warriors also low in numbers it was good that siblings were there to assist to ensure players got a break.

Mount Barker won the toss and chose to play down hill in the first half, trying to use the breeze to their advantage. With this decision made the Warriors knew it would be a tough defensive half.  Both teams started well with the ball flowing up and down the park. Mt Barker continued to apply pressure with their long throw-ins and good passing. On a number of cases they managed to get the ball into the Woodside goal area, but the defence held strong and cleared the ball out repeatedly. Through some good clearance the Woodside defence combined well with their midfield moving the forward into the Mt Barker half to provide some opportunities for themselves, but the Mt Barker back four remained strong. Woodside were awarded an indirect free kick just outside the box in the closing minutes, but the shot went over the bar. In one last ditched effort of the half the Woodside attacking midfielder was presented an opportunity but the shot went wide and the first half finished at 0-0.

The second half the Warriors felt they had a chance, with the wind now at their back and a run slightly down hill they could apply the pressure. Mt Barker had other plans and started the half of the better playing the ball cleverly down the flanks and crossing the ball into waiting attachers. Woodside defended well during this time, but too many attacks finally saw Mt Barker slot the ball home for the lead. With renewed belief Mt Barker picked up their game and started to again make passes to feet causing the Woodside defence to stand strong and close down their opponents before another opportunity presented itself to Mt Barker. Woodside also began to make passes and start to add their own pressure to the Mt Barker defence, but time was against the Warriors and the game finished 1-0 to Mt Barker.

Stirling United Soccer Club (5) vs Strathalbyn Strikers FC Inc White (2)

It was a breezy morning at Strathalbyn for the final game of the league. Whilst Stirling United had already clinched the title, there was plenty on the line for this clash between the top 2 sides, with Stirling United hoping to go through the season undefeated, and the key strikers for both sides locked together in terms of goals scored. Previous clashes between the teams have been hotly contested so the fans of both sides were looking forward to the match up.

Stirling United took early advantage of the north westerly breeze when a long clearance from Lachlan Stein in the Stirling goal cleared the pack, allowing Henry Monaghan to run on to the ball and chip the keeper with lovely control seeing the ball into the back of the net. Both sides then had periods of dominance, before a cross from Nik Smith found its way into the net with the goal credited to Yuto Okada after a goal mouth skirmish.

Shortly after, Strathalbyn attacked strongly, with Kalan Brooks following up a shot that was initially blocked by Stein to reduce the margin to one, and to take the lead in the competition between the strikers. Stirling subsequently countered, with Araby Phelan finishing sweetly to extend the lead again. The game swung again, with Brooks scoring after 24 minutes to reduce the deficit going in to half time.

With Strathalbyn having the wind at their back for the second half, Stirling knew that they would have a fight on their hands to hold on for the win. Both teams had chances, but Stirling clearly lifted their defensive intensity, closing the space and then attacking with purpose. Phelan struck a powerful shot that hit the top corner but deflected wide, and then had another shot blocked by the keeper before a beautiful finish on his trusty left foot extended the gap between the two teams. The game was sealed after a delightful corner from Charlie Rollings, who dominated the midfield during the second half, was headed home by Phelan to give Stirling their fifth and saw Phelan pip Brooks for the title of golden boot.

Woodside Warriors Soccer Club (1) vs Stirling United Soccer Club (6)

The last round of the season saw Stirling United travel to play against Woodside Warriors. The conditions were not great with fairly heavy winds and some on and off rain. The game started off strong from each team with both teams missing a few early shots. Possession went both ways but Stirling was the first to capitalise on a few Woodside errors. Woodside continued to play well and had the ball in their forward half a lot but could never manage to get a good shot on goal to challenge the keeper. Stirling's backline was hard to breach and they continued to build pressure when going forward, with fast attacks and finding space in between the Woodside defenders. Stirling put a few more in the back of the net before half time as the rain started to fall. Woodside started the second half strong and both teams played high quality football. Woodside scored after perseverance and pressing. However Stirling United were too strong and kept putting in the goals. One of which was a long range beauty of a knuckle ball. The game finished 6-1 to Stirling but both teams played well and had scoring opportunities at both ends. United came out the more accurate and clinical at the right times.

Hahndorf Soccer Club (7) vs Stirling Districts Soccer Club Blue (1)

Hahndorf hosted Stirling Districts Blue at Pine Avenue for the final game of the season. The game was dominated by Hahndorf from the kick off and they had multiple goal scorers including Jack Anderson, Eddie Hardingham, Xavier Kell, Jack Eakins and Angus Mason. Will Bailye put in another great game for Hahndorf and Kell was outstanding in the midfield and up forward including a great solo run through the Stirling Districts defenders to score a goal late in the first half. Hahndorf’s Josh Rayner, Alex Montagu and David Nielsen were strong in defence and Jye Martin, Jackson Doley, Jamie Hamilton and Micah Edgecombe had plenty of the ball. Hahndorf walked away with a comfortable win and the game was played with great skill and sportsmanship from both sides.
