Hahndorf Soccer Club vs Torrens Valley Soccer Club

A foggy morning cleared to reveal perfect sunny conditions for the opening games of the AHJFA season! The U8s were buzzing, a few feeling a bit nervous before their first ever game of soccer, but once the game with Torrens Valley got underway they were all soon into it!

An early Torrens Valley goal was followed by a Hahndorf goal, and this back and forth continued throughout the match, with both teams finding the net a few times. Cheers for William Moran & Asa Bartsch who both scored goals playing forward for HSC.

Torrens Valley were great at wanting the ball and getting it forward but persistent defending by Axel Pym & Finn Bond kept it out of the net, as well as solid work by the goalies. A particularly impressive save by Levi Roberts in the second half drew admiring cheers from the supporters.

Overall, a fun, friendly & evenly matched game to start off the season – go u8s!!

Hahndorf Soccer Club vs Bridgewater Soccer Club White

It was perfect soccer weather, a gentle breeze and cool temperatures, which set the stage for the first match of the season with Hahndorf White playing against Bridgewater.

The air buzzed with anticipation, determination, excitement, and lots of nervous energy. It didn’t take long for Hahndorf to channel this energy into playing an impressive game of soccer.

Hahndorf was quick to get the ball and within the first few minutes of the match had scored a goal.  The team worked together to support Zeek Neelawala in scoring the goal. It was a fantastic combination of timing and teamwork.

Linus Doyle was the star goalkeeper for the first half, his eyes were locked on the ball and was ready to leap into action.

It was tough first half with Bridgewater fighting hard to keep up their defense, fighting back and scoring multiple goals. Charlie Kilpatrick played a crucial role in supporting the team, taking possession of the ball and helping to set up shots for the midfielders.

Bridgewater’s early assertiveness in the game didn’t deter Hahndorf, if anything it made them more determined. This was evidenced with Neelawala scoring his second goal shortly after his first.

The previous playing experience of Neelawala and Carter Karamanov was evident throughout the game. They were a powerhouse duo who worked together and role modeled impressive attack and defensive skills.

Recharged by a fruit break (or maybe the promise of a sausage sizzle post-match), Hahndorf came out like a force to be reckoned with. We suspect Bridgewater may have had an energy boost (or similar incentives post-match) as they also came out equally as recharged and full of energy.

In the second half, we saw Angus Bretag don the keeper gloves and set himself up for a productive session as keeper. We observed an impressive save by Bretag to oppose a Bridgewater goal.  This save came at a crucial time in the game.

Both Magnus Palmer and Patrick Griggs were pivotal in the game, particularly in the second half. Throughout the game they worked on bridging both defense and attack to support their team.  Noah Williams also played a great game with multiple powerful long passes to support the team strikers.

Karamanov’s persistence paid off in the second half when he scored his first goal for the season.

As the game was coming to an end, we could see the fatigue start to creep in. With no subs in hand, Hahndorf powered on to finish the game strong.

A big thanks to the referee who was a figure of calm authority, navigating the game with a blend of firmness and fairness.

Lastly, a shoutout to the fantastic coaches, their knowledge of the game, outstanding amount of patience and leadership, didn’t go unnoticed by the teams and their families.
