Match report

A warm sunny day greeted the kids at Springbank Secondary College. Within the first two minutes Blackwood scored their first goal, taking Hahndorf by surprise.  This woke up Patrick Hinze, Luca Cannavo and Angus Mifsud, keeping the balls away from nets.  Unfortunately Blackwood were able to shot the goal over the top of Daniel Peters in goals.  With a switch in defence Cooper Liddle made it harder for Blackwood to get the ball to the nets. With some great passing by Levi Beesley, Hayden Lien and Harry Gould the ball made it's way to the Blackwood nets, unfortunately for Blackwood the ball came off one of their players to score Hahndorf's first goal. With some great blocking by Luciann Tinsley-Smith, Pearl Beesley and   Isaac Bonilla-Killey, Lien and Gould were able to have a few shots of goals, with L Beesley finally finding the back of the nets.  Blackwood were quick to fight back and again shot over the keepers head to score another goal. From a corner to Blackwood, keeper Peters was able to save one of the great saves of the day.  The ball quickly found it's way to the other end of the pitch, giving Bonilla-Killey the opportunity to score a great header into the nets. In the last few minutes of the first half, another home goal was scored by Blackwood.  Two very sweaty teams were glad when the whistle blew to grab a drink and re group.
Hahndorf put on some great defence and seem to get their passing back in control. Giving Gould and L Beesely more shots on goal, unfortunately were not able to find the back of the net.  A ball to the face, ended the game for L Beesley. Blackwood, managed to get a goal past Jacob Gardner. Liddle and Gould had a couple more shot of the goals, but I think an underman team and the hot conditions proved too much for the Hahndorf team.
