Match report

Warriors met up against the new Hahndorf U13 Black at their home ground. Both teams went at it as soon as the first whistle blew. Both teams seemed to be well matched and applied pressure the whole way down the pitch. Both teams were able to have a few cracks at goal, but the goalies were not letting anything past them. Seems we were at a gridlock with neither team managing to score for the first 20 minutes of the game. Play went back and forth down the pitch until the 23-minute mark when great teamwork saw Warriors score the first goal for the match. Hahndorf ramped up their defense determined to show Warriors they were up to the challenge and responded to Warrior’s goal with one of their own. Game was once again tied up with both teams working hard. Warriors managed to find a gap in Hahndorf defense and snuck in their second goal inside the last minute of the first half. Warriors leading 2-1 at half time. Hahndorf came out hard and fast in the second half hungry for a goal and it paid off when they found the gap and shot for goal scoring the fist goal only 5 minutes into the second half. That put the score at 2 goals each. Warriors fast realizing they had to step it up a notch if they wanted the win. Warriors tightened up defenses and made some great passes through the middle and it worked. Warriors scoring the next 2 goals. Hahndorf were not going to go down without a fight though. They doubled up their defense and ties Warrior’s strikers up denying them any more scoring shots. Hahndorf midfield found opportunities to get through Warrior’s defense and continued to push on. Hahndorf scored the last 2 goals for the match and once again tied the score up. Both teams worked hard, and final score was tied up at 4 all.
