2021 U9 | 10th April 10:00am | League Round 2 | WWSC Modified 1 |
Playing the same team home and away and two weeks apart lent a slight air of a cup semi-final second leg to this U9s match on Saturday morning. Similar to the teams’ earlier encounter, this proved to be a close game with a tight battle fought mostly in the midfield. Bridgewater showed once again that they are well-organised and can effectively close-down the opposition, whilst being tricky to deal with on the break.
For their part Woodside defended well, created some good goalscoring opportunities and offered tantalising glimpses of a passing game that they hope to develop through the season. The better of the chances once again fell Woodside’s way and your correspondent suspects that both coaches will take a number of positives from the match and some satisfaction from their respective teams’ performances.
