This drizzly, overcast Saturday morning saw Hahndorf U7s take on Woodside at the muddy Woodside Recreation Ground. Victor Bartsch, Finn Bond, and Hamish Holmes made up Hahndorf’s attack with William Moran as Stroker, while Asa Bartsch and Avery Buchanan formed the defensive line for Axel Pym in goalkeeper. The Woodside attack came thick and fast, surprising Hahndorf with a number of early goals, however the Hahndorf midfield and defense worked hard to ensure it wasn’t an easy task. At the 10-minute mark, Ryan Glynn and Patrick Griggs brought fresh legs into the equation, continuing the great work of Hahndorf’s midfield and defense.

After a quick rest for half-time, Moran, Pym, Bond, and A Bartsch were primed to take on the midfield attack, while Griggs, Buchanan, and Glynn (goalkeeper) made up the defense. Hahndorf began fighting back early on with a couple of quick, collaborative runs at goal where striker Moran kicked twice at goal, unfortunately unsuccessful on both occasions. Following some confusion around timing in the second half, V Bartsch and Bond eventually rejoined the side to continue the fight in the midfield.
