Hahndorf quickly set in to action with the midfield working hard to keep the ball in the forward half. Sonjay Cook cleared the ball down the centre which resulted in a converted shot by Lawson Shotton and an early score.

Jack Gaskin positioned himself well in defence blocking multiple attempts from Strathalbyn to break through. Harry Wood and Caleb Earley combined well to continuously send the ball forward resulting in multiple scoring opportunities. Cohen Winfield and Shotton combined to put a 2nd goal through.

The spectators enjoyed watching skilful play down the right wing with Eli Parkyn consistently moving the ball forward to create scoring opportunities.  Accurate passing between Louis Moran, Emlyn Gilroy and Rowan Gilroy set up Shotton to continue his strikes on goal. Chris Haynes was influential in the forward line, working well with Parkyn, Ashon Broadbent, Gilroy and Shotton to keep possession in front of goal. Patience and persistence paid off and set up a well-timed goal to Broadbent.

Strathalbyn were persistent but the goals were skilfully protected by goal keeper Jackson Bidgood, who had a clean sheet at the half time break.

The second half saw an early goal to R Gilroy and a further succession of goals to E Gilroy, Broadbent Shaw and Parkyn. Hahndorf’s defenders continued to work hard with Earley consistently putting pressure on the Strathalbyn forwards, with Wood effectively sending the ball forward. This pressure saw Strathalbyn being held to only 1 score for the game. Hahndorf’s 8 goal win was a true team effort.
