On this fresh Saturday morning at Hahndorf home ground, the U9’s took on the Rangers in what turned out to be a really solid match.
With a swift first goal scored by Michael Griggs, it may have seemed like it was going to be an easy game. However, the Rangers were tough with their defence and made Hahndorf work for the ball.
Harris Parkyn and Angus Clifton pushed through in the first half to cover the ball and move it away from the opposition.
A nicely scored couple of goals from Miles Hennessy kept Hahndorf in the game and the first half finished with a stellar tumble and save by goalie Leo Davies.
The second half saw some great footwork by Charlie Roezler to reclaim the ball from Rangers, while Hamish Glynn was ready and waiting to help with defence. When the ball came close to Hahndorf’s end, Saxon Sulskis defended close to the goal square with the ongoing attempts at goal by the opposition.
At final whistle the opposition came out on top but it was was a well fought game by both teams.
