Woodside U9 Blue Vs Hahndorf U9

A warm and sunny May Saturday greeted Woodside for our fourth game of the season, this time at home to Hahndorf. The first half opened brightly with lots of energy and running from both teams. This set the standard for a fairly even first half, with chances taken at both ends and Hahndorf ending the first half better-off by a very slim margin.

The second half followed suit until about the 35-minute mark, when Woodside began to tire and lose positional sense. It is quite possible that the kids’ minds had strayed onto the new and exciting canteen menu on offer at Warriors HQ. Hahndorf ended the game very strong, attacking in waves and outnumbering Woodside’s defence. Despite these late lapses in concentration, some real positives for our U9 Blues today were better understanding of defensive roles, some strong marking and passing, and a strong desire to win the ball and attack.
