Hahndorf’s under 17 team faced Strathalbyn at Rob Kilpatrick Park late Saturday morning. The weather was overcast with the sun making the occasional appearance during the second half. Hahndorf started strong with some good pressure in attack. A brilliant intercept and running strike by Lewis Johnson saw Hanhdorf score in the third minute. Strathalbyn regrouped and dominated possession for the remainder of the half with accurate passing and a number of fast breaks into space. Despite some very solid keeping by stand in keeper Toby Thomas, Strathalbyn finished the half well in front. The half finished with  a lot of work for the Hahndorf team to do.

Strathalbyn started the second half attacking from the kick off but Hahndorf countered with a nice attack but unfortunately couldn’t convert. Hahndorf found more shape in the second and with the downhill run created more scoring attempts. Strathalbyn slowed the game down with some impressive accurate passing across their defensive line. Another fast break from Strathalbyn resulted in another goal but some excellent defensive efforts from Charlie Zorkovic, Oliver Coombe, Rhys Davies, Gabe Aylen and Mitchell Stribley helped hold Strathalbyn to only the one goal in the second half.
