Woodside Warriors Blue Vs Woodside Warriors Red

Woodside Recreation Ground – Modified Pitch – 5:00pm

The Warriors' Red first night game was a Derby Match versus the Warriors' U8 Blue team. With the music playing and the smell of BBQ wafting across the field, the boys couldn't wait to get the game started. Both teams were extremely eager to compete against their training partners.

As the game began, it was a closely contested battle, with both teams moving the ball around and calculating where they might be able to break through the rival defences. With attacks coming from both sides of the pitch, the Reds began to put pressure on the Blue Defence. Mitchell and Jessie went into the Reds' midfield and were able to generate some quick runs, allowing Freddie and Luca, who were moving well up front, to get a couple shots off. In the end, neither team was able to get the ball past the keeper, and the game was locked 0-0 at halftime.

It was telling a similar story to the first half as the second half began. this time the reds had Eddie, Nathaniel and Daniel were working hard up front, making sure they were in good positions and moving the ball around a well-organised defence. After a few breakaway attacks, Scott managed to put one in the net, giving us our first goal of the night. As the half went on Archer was also able to break through the defence and add to the tally. The guys did great moving the ball through a tough defensive unit, constantly applying pressure and attempting a variety of plays in order to get through.

The game ended with everyone having a good time and patiently waiting for the BBQ Sausages. Both sides performed brilliantly, with every player on the field putting in their best effort. It was fantastic to see the quality of players provided by the Warriors club, with both sides performing to an incredibly high standard.
