Strathalbyn mounts an early attack but Hahndorf’s #2, Tinsley-Smith makes a strong defence. Hahndorf’s Panic gets an early free kick, but it doesn’t amount to much. He wins a corner that is well defended by Hahndorf defender Stribley. Strathalbyn gets a second corner and manages to convert it to a goal going into a 2-0 lead. In the twenty eighth minute the Strathalbyn attack proves too strong. Hahndorf striker Davies has a shot on goal and just misses the left post, then Hahndorf striker Panic makes a great shot on goal, really challenging the Strathalbyn keeper, however Strathalbyn makes a counter attack and scores a solid goal. The half time score is 4-0.

The second half play starts fiercely; both teams have fresh legs after the break and play some strong possession football. A bungled offside kick by Hahndorf puts keeper Boekel under pressure, but he manages a great save. Strathalbyn #9 has a successful shot on goal, and the score goes to 5-0. Strathalbyn makes a great attack and keeper Boekel is forced to make another great save. Hahndorf striker Davies receives a great ball from Panic and has a shot at goal. The Strathalbyn keeper manages a good save. A Strathalbyn corner is taken and almost results in a goal, but Boekel makes another great save for Hahndorf. Hahndorf defenders including Aylen, Stribley, and Tinsley-Smith begin to wear out because Hahndorf don’t have any subs on the bench.
