Match report
The game started off with a show of great sportsmanship by Bridgewater, kindly taking an extra sub on the sideline to evenly match our reduced number of Hahndorf players on the pitch. Bridgewater came out incredibly strong, with an early attempt at goal pounced on by Hahndorf’s keeper Art Neville. Charlie Kilpatrick supported with a great defensive block, but the next shot got through. The strong offense by Bridgewater led to another couple of goals getting through.

Will Neelawala showed incredible skill driving the ball forward towards the goal before being overcome by Bridgewater defenders. Zeek Neelawala and Kilpatrick were strong through the centre getting the ball forward to W. Neelawala who had a few close shots, testing the Bridgewater keeper. In defense, Kealan Atkinson managed some excellent tackles and Eric Jager relentlessly tackled Bridgewater, converting some into his signature huge defensive kicks, sending the ball back down the pitch.

Neville continued to persevere in goals, making some great saves and bravely jumping onto the ball despite the flying boots. This effort was matched by Kilpatrick in the second half, keeping a close watch and diving onto the ball as soon as it was within reach. Hahndorf really picked up the energy in the second half with some incredible runs by W. Neelawala weaving through the entire Bridgewater team. Jager put up an incredible defense, holding Bridgewater at bay with Neville and Atkinson’s support. Unfortunately, the Bridgewater team were too strong, managing to break through a couple of times before the final whistle.
