The Hahndorf U13 side this week took on Woodside at Woodside in extremely wintery, wet, and windy, conditions. Hahndorf faced a talented Woodside contingent, who fought valiantly all game, but were ultimately over-run by the gritty and determined Hahndorf group.

Woodside had several outstanding individual runs down each wing and capitalised on a penalty shot midway through the second half. But, with two first half goals to Eli Parkyn, and two excellent conversions by Lawson Shotton, Hahndorf secured a well-deserved, and courageous battle, to win 4-1.

Outstanding effort in goals by Chris Haynes, and excellent teamwork between Harry Wood, Jacob Gerber, Jack Gaskin and Caleb Earley across the back lines, Hahndorf looked solid in defence all game. Ashon Broadbent-Shaw and Cohen Whinfield showing silky play making on the wings. With lots of great balls, and efficient passing amongst Jackson Bidgood and Sonjae Cook, as well as Louis Moran, all through the game, the benefits of Hahndorf’s training, and execution of its set plays and strategy, shone brightly.

Gritty determination from all players, and willingness to run all game, added together to make the spirit of teamwork and hustle a hallmark of the successful outing.
