Match report Hahndorf U12s vs Murray Bridge United U12

Murray Bridge United U12’s team kicked off uphill at 9.01 on Saturday 10 April, against Hahndorf U12 at Murray Bridge soccer grounds.  Within 6 minutes Centre Forward Hayden Lien scored for Hahndorf.  Levi Beesley and Emlyn Gilroy worked well with Oli Aylen in driving the ball forward toward goals. Cooper Liddle and Harry Gould grabbed opportunities to strike.  Defenders Daniel Peters, Dante Man, Ben Romaldi, and Lawson Shotton kept control of any balls that slipped past the front line.  Goalie Ryder Hill was ready but had little work given Hahndorf’s excellent play.
Five minutes after the first goal, Lien smashed another one past the Murray Bridge keeper.   Jacob Gardiner provided a series of great crosses toward goals.  Chris Haynes was moving the ball strongly up the wing and at 9.27 Gould finished the charge to score his first goal.  Just 3 minutes later, shortly before half time, Lien scored his 3rd goal bringing the score to 4 - 0 Hahndorf’s way.
Shotton kicked off for the 2nd half with Hill out of goals and on an attack.  Hill’s charge was only stopped by strong Murray Bridge Goal keeping.  Gilroy punched his first goal trough at 9.50am and then Gardener headed a ball past the keeper to secure goal number 6.  Patrick Hinze pushed hard in defence and stopped stray balls slipping through.  Gould punched goal 7 through and minutes later Gardner headed the ball which bounced off the defending team’s boot which brought the tally to 8 - 0.  
The westerly wind and strong teamwork by Hahndorf kept the ball in the forward,left of the field during the second half.  Beesley was noticeable in helping move the ball toward goals, and Liddle was a capable defender blocking shots that created a secure defence.
At 10.06am Gould sunk the final goal of the match.
