Match report

The sun was shining down the hill as the Warriors travelled across multiple time zones to face Blackwood.

Woodside were on the Blackfoot from the get go as Blackwoods plan came to fruition. Their tactics were simple yet effective. Pass the ball to their number 10 striker who would then score a goal.

The morale of the team unfortunately dropped early in the first half as it rained goals for the opposition. Woodside were flat footed, not marking well and just not chasing hard enough. The half time whistle couldn’t come soon enough with a much needed pepp talk from coach Mark and parents required.

After some inspirational words from Coach , the warriors took to the field to remedy their first half blues.

Communication, chase and desire returned with some great passing, tackling and marking up by the team.
Thomas led by example, Abbie had a couple of great shots on goal, James and Dean persisted through injury & Walter played arguably his best for the season.
Team formation held strong and the Warrior effort was commendable.

Whilst the goals continued to flow for Blackwood it was excellent to see the warrior spirit return on the back end of a big loss. We will learn from the game and come back next week eager, motivated and ready to represent the Woodside guernsey.

Final score ( doesn’t matter)
