Should you be successful you'll play your part in a team of players from across all AHJSA associated clubs. You'll have an additional training session per week with your team in the lead up to two SAJSA Championships.
The first is the State Championships, usually held over the long weekend in June and at Gepps Cross.
The second is the Country Championships, held later in the year, usually September, and at a country town. For example the 2023 Country Championships were held in Broken Hill. Other locations have included Mount Gambier, Whyalla and even our very own Strathalbyn. It is anticipated that in 2024 Countries will be held in Whyalla in mid September.
Training is held on Monday nights at SSRP (Mt Barker). It is U12D, U12, U13 & U13G in a 5:30pm to 7:00pm slot, followed by the U14, U15, U16 & U16G in the 7:00pm to 8:30pm slot. Training begins by the end of February and continues until the Country Carnival is held.
Please note that there are costs associated with being involved in a Representative team. We keep this as low as possible, but the 2023 fees included a player fee (~ $135) and a kit fee (~ $104). Kit won't change in 2024 so anyone with kit that still fits is welcome to continue using it. There is also the travel and accommodation expense of attending the country carnival. A lot of families treat it as a family holiday and will spend extra time in the area following the carnival.
