Round 12                     Woodside Rams Vs  Stirling                    Venue Birdwood

It was a day with large anticipation as every game we have had has been close and it could go either way.

It began as expected with Stirling coming out firing and they managed to score in the first minute, which straight away put us on the back foot.

Woodside Rams decided they needed to switch on an on they came.

Our goalie although injured managed to dive on a few and our mid field was looking stronger than ever with 2 girls having potentially the best game of their season.

And before I knew it our midfield pushed around our forwards and managed to sink a goal into the net.

Scores were level again.

we were not done yet , one of our regular forwards was feeling the desire to get into the action and she managed to get a run and also hit the back of the net, that was 3 weeks in a row now for her.

A change in our mind set now as we had put ourselves out in front to make sure they do not score again.

It was scary, but we were continuously pushing the ball from one end to the other both teams up for the fight corners at both ends and no one able to put anymore on the board.

Half time whistle blew and time to recharge .

The Girls were warned that Stirling will come out firing in the first minute as they always come charging out of the gates and as predicted 3 minutes into the second half they pulled out the equalizer, and then a little shell shocked they did it again.

On the back foot again.

Woodside rams were not going to go down without a fight and fight we did . corner after corner after corner , but we just couldn’t get it into the net. Over the top the ball sawed still no equalizer.

Players were pulling themselves off left right and centre saw and broken, but this told us they were putting everything on the line.

The final whistle blew and this time Stirling took home the victory, but to be honest I think that both teams won as a game like that is what you play soccer for, great game to both the teams.
