Match report

What a day!  It was raining cats and dogs before the game but the boys were adamant they wanted to play a game of soccer.  Through what seemed to be some divine intervention, the rain stopped for the duration of the game.

The pitch was soft, spongy and wet underfoot making ball control an important aspect of the game today.  Passes had to be kept short and accurate to maintain control of the game.  The boys positioned perfectly on the pitch today and held their positions to create plenty of scoring opportunities.  Tyler Herrmann, Theo Nicholson and Callum Magee all had good scoring opportunities today but it was Sam Balacco and Eli Ambrose who converted the goals.  Lucas March-Feltum, Noah Paech, Tommy Garden, and Eli all did a great job in mids to feed the ball into the forwards and create scoring opportunities.

Tommy was goalie in the first half and made some great saves.  Lucas was defending and provided great support!  The boys were passing well and getting the ball back into the forwards with great accuracy.  They used the line and created a corridor through to the forwards.  In the second half Callum took over as goalie and made some great diving saves!  Lucas moved into forward and provided some great feed ins to the forwards with accurate passing.  Eli was nimble on his feet despite the wet weather and showed excellent ball control into the forwards.  Despite our strong defence, Stirling United White got some shots past.

All in all, it was a great game of soccer to watch and pure luck that we didn’t get wet!  Well done boys!
