The Hahndorf Under 13s put on an excellent effort to win against Strathalbyn 7-1 in sunny conditions at the Hahndorf home ground, Rob Kilpatrick Park.

Hahndorf played an attacking first half with a successful penalty shot on goal by Louis Moran. A solid corner kicked by Emlyn Gilroy was converted to a goal by Lawson Shotton with a third Hahndorf goal by Shotton soon after. Hahndorf’s goalie Jackson Bidgood also stopped a shot on goal by Strathalbyn with an impressive leap in the air. Rowan Gilroy used the spaces down the right to bring the ball down and cross into the middle. Hahndorf’s defence was also strong with Christopher Haynes and Jack Gaskin successfully turning the ball over throughout the half.

The second half saw Hahndorf play more defensively with Caleb Earley saving a couple of Strathalbyn shots on goals. Pearl Beesley and Nico Moran used the wide spaces to bring the ball forward from defence with Sonjae Cook and Coco Whinfield playing well through the middle. Hahndorf maintained an impressive lead, with a goal from Thomas Gould, another goal by Shotton to get a hattrick and 2 goals from Emlyn Gilroy sealing the game.
