Round 13                    Mount Barker Vs Woodside Rams     Venue Summit

What a beautiful day , during the week we played a catch up game that showed the girls that mount barker are here to play soccer after drawing with us. I don’t think this sat very well with our girls as round 13 did not bring bad luck, but instead brought fire and fierceness.

Every single girl was here to play and give it absolutely everything, right from the first whistle our girls looked dominant and explosive and tenatious and powerful.

The game had not been going very long and a push forward had happened from our determined forward line and a shot on goal bounced off the keeper, but a new person in our forward line up picked up the crumbs and finished the job, one up with almost the whole game still to play. Well this did not stop the WoodsideRams from continuing there fight. It was as though we had decided we were going to play in Barkers defensive half today, everytime the ball managed to cross the half way line the fire in our defence were on it sending the ball back to our midfield who would battle through and then back to our forward line to create pressure and press they did to the point where there was another shot on goal and wait it had bounced off the post and our new found pigeon with super fast reflexes found the crumbs again and finished the job. 2 up at the break.

Second half was looking much the same with most of the play in our attacking , so much so that we were battleing in the box and one ourselves a penalty . to keep it fair and fun for the girls we gave a defender a chance to take the penalty and bang game on Barker we were up by 3.

As we know soccer is never over till the final whistle and Barker managed to finally get a break through and get one back .

This was not liked by our girls so they took it to Barker one last time finishing them off with a final goal.

Well done Girls it was a Team that one it today everyone giving all they had and no one standing watching play go by. Great game and you deserve the victory.
