A last minute change to the schedule saw Woodside Blue head out to the Summit on Saturday morning to play Hahndorf's U17's for their first encounter this season. With Hahndorf starting the game with 10 players, Woodside matched those numbers and put an extra player on their bench.

Both teams started fairly strongly, with a fast initial attack from Hahndorf, which was saved by Woodside's keeper. This was countered fairly quickly by Woodside, with the team playing the ball down the pitch for the first goal of the match from Melville at the 4th minute mark.  He knocked in his second goal by 10 minutes, however that would be the last score for the first half, despite some speedy runs from Diaz on the right wing and strong mid-field play from Mclean.

After the break Woodside came out firing and for the most part kept the ball in their attacking half.  Franchi in the mid-field seemed to be in the right spot at the right time often and guided the ball back to Woodside's attacking front line. Silvestri, Cotton and Bauer all managed to net one for the game, with valiant efforts also from Johnston and Humphries.

Hahndorf's defence played a strong game overall and didn't give up, although the advantage of players on the bench for Woodside could be seen by the end of the game.
