The Hahndorf Under 8’s soccer team put on a brave display on Saturday morning against Stirling. The team was fired up and ready to hit the pitch after a few weeks covid hiatus.

From the outset Hahndorf showed potential with all players working together as a team and defending the persistent Stirling attack. Michael Griggs, Fernando Palma and Brooklyn Rohde forever persistent at keeping on the Stirling attackers, and making them have to work hard.

Hugo Dahmke defended many strikes at goal, but unfortunately one sharp kick making it pass to leave Stirling 1 up at the half time whistle.

The Back line was kept busy for the entire game, with Carter Hartley, Jack Coffey, Jasper Christou and Hamish Glynn provided great defence and consistently worked the ball back to the forward line.

Angus Clifton, Samuel Gardner and Paddy Coffey also showed great support work running the ball back into the Hahndorf forward line.

The 2nd half saw the Hahndorf Magpies remain positive, with Gardner defending the goals.
Stirling dominating the midfield opening up multiple opportunities for strikes at goal.

Our mighty pint sized athletes gave it their all today, noting some Olympic inspiration to keep them going to the final whistle.

Both teams played with great spirit, fun and teamwork.
