For the first half Woodside Gold and Summit were evenly matched with no team able to score. Toby Reichmann as goalkeeper pulled off some brilliant saves to keep Gold in the match. Toby Smith, Charlie Dvorak and the ever-improving Ashley Hendrie made Summit's keeper come up with some saves but plenty of other shots went wide of the small-sized goals.

The ball was whizzing up and down the field and all Gold players were challenging for it in a fine team effort.

Midway through the second half Summit broke the deadlock with an amazing sharp-angled strike from their State League player in Harvey Fairhead. Despite this, Gold continued to press  with Mason Payne and Jack Hogan getting plenty of kicks through the midfield. Jo Smith put in some threatening runs down the right only to see his shots go wide. Stefan Sims as goalkeeper was becoming more busy as Summit pressed forward with a barrage of shots on goal and in the dying minutes they hit the back of the net.

This was the first game this season that Gold failed to score but what is encouraging is that they had lots of chances to do so.
