Saturday 19th June, 2021 Under 9 teams – Woodside Warriors Soccer Club (WWSC) Red played Mount Barker United Gold at the Mount Barker Summit Football Club. Both teams met under specifically cold and wet conditions, however the conditions did not hold back or prevent any spectacular team work. Spectators witnessed enthusiastic and energetic play from both sides, each team demonstrating strategic fancy footwork in passing to team members, intercepting opposition passes and dribbling down the field. Bastian French determined a remarkable maneuverer with an opponent close behind, but this didn’t divert his focus as he successfully brought the ball down the field. Quinn Klein, Elliot Stewart and Justin Smith each contributed to the team’s effort in offense while Samuel Clifford, Logan Bridge and Arlo Areamkaew supported the team with some tactical defence. Lily Foster and Joshua Clifford also supported with inadvertent kicks and interceptions throughout the game. An exciting game played by all.
