Match report

The players were pleased to get into the game after the hiatus of school holidays and the lockdown restrictions.  Both teams took a few minutes to settle and lift to the pace of the game.

Hahndorf settled first with a great goal in the opening minutes.  Hahndorf controlled it out of defense, then a perfect run-down right wing by Joash Ng, with a precision cross to Jacob Neumann who scored a cracking header for the first team goal.

Stirling United pushed Hahndorf in the first half, and scored one goal, but there were some impressive saves by both goalies.

J Neumann played an exceptional first half scoring four goals in total, the third was his hardest weaving and threading the ball round the Stirling defense.  The youngest of the Neumann boys, Ryley Neumann also scored a strong goal and the scores were 5:1 at half time.

Stirling United came out firing in the second half.  Hahndorf’s defense of Luca Cannavo, Angus Mifsud, Liam Sickerdick, Blane Balcom and Pepe Zahra were put to the test with goalie Diesel Aho making some critical saves under pressure.

Hahndorf’s forwards continued to work hard in the second half, J Ng played a great game running down the wing time and time again. Jet Zahra also dominated this half, hungry to get the ball and creating space.

A highlight for Hahndorf in the second half was a great corner by J Neumann where Henri Bjordal almost scored a header goal, just hitting the cross bar and got the crowd going.

Hahndorf midfield of Oliver Dahmke, Toby Perkins, Logan Maxwell, P Zahra and Bjordal kept working hard for their team all game.

Stirling finished strong winning the second half with two goals, but Hahndorf ran out winners in a tight fought game 5:3.
