Woodside Warriors Red Vs Murray Bridge

Woodside – 9:00am

What a beautiful morning to be hosting Murray Bridge; the sun is shining, and the guys are buzzing. After the game last week, everyone's confidence is through the roof and they're all eager to impress the crowd with their fresh skills and score a few goals. A number of the boys commented on the size difference between the two teams as we lined up to start the game, but our little warriors were determined to show that size doesn't matter.

Our youngsters demonstrated their willingness to get involved and have a go during the first half's intense physical clash. Our midfielders creating plenty of forward momentum, Freddie, Luca, Jesse, Eddie and Owen all appeared to run the ball into a group of giants before popping out the other side still in control of it. In order to stop a quick-hitting opponent, our defence held firm and was able to read the play effectively. Mitchell, Scott, and Nathaniel were able to float across the field and clear the ball, building a solid defence that would prove difficult for any attack to get past.

Archer & Scott handled the chores of net protection, A fast paced opposition kept our goalies busy. Showing some amazing skills and blocking some really potent strikes. They did a great job of keeping the players informed and making sure the defence was properly positioned at all times. When the ball reached their area, both pounced, preventing the opposition from having a second chance to get a shot off.

In the second half, After controlling the majority of the game's play, we deservedly hit the scoreboard. Daniel our striker was able to score a couple of goals after receiving wonderful assists from a few different players. The guys held their positions and performed their jobs excellently, demonstrating that if we can all do our part for the team, results will come.

This was by far the best game the boys have played. It was fantastic to see that every person on the field contributed to our second goal as the ball was passed about, through a tough defence, and to our striker in the ideal position. Great job, boys! You really proved to a bigger opponent that the most important part of the game is teamwork & skill!
