Round 5.   Stirling   VS  Woodside      Aldgate Oval Churinga

Unlike the past weeks weather was not looking like it would be kind to us, and being in Aldgate it wasn’t increasing our chances of favourable conditions.

Regardless of the weather the game would go on. Woodside had its bare 7 today while Stirling had a commanding 11 so it was looking like we would have to fight to run the full game out without legs in the shed.

Game started and Stirling had the kick off, the ball seem to be spending a lot of time down

Woodside’s defensive end, but despite Stirling’s attempts on goal Woodside continued to defend and clear the ball out.

It was as if something had clicked it the Woodside team and they were playing soccer the way it was meant to be played as a team using each position for what it was made and not wasting effort unnecessarily.

Half time was hear and scores were nil all and Woodside had not yet released the secret weapon, some positions were changed over half time and break and the weapon was armed and dangerous.

The whistle blew second half began centre pass to the secret weapon and within a minute Woodside had a score on the board.

Centre pass now by Stirling and they pressured straight to our defence, but Woodside was on an adrenalin rush from the last goal and away we went jockeying players to the side then talking them on passing up the line and we were away Woodside scores again that’s 2 in less than 5 minutes.

We now had a newfound belief in our chances and before long a third was scored. The quarter nearly over and Woodside’s legs starting to fade, Stirling gets 1 back, and that is the way it finishes up.

Well done to both sides as a great game was had by all, with

final scores

Stirling 1, Woodside 3
