Match report

A sensational game was played at the St Francis de Sales school between Hahndorf U15s and Mt Barker United on the 1st May. The sun was warm, the pitch was green and flat and the two teams were raring to go.

Hahndorf was lucky enough to have subs this week with assistance from Ben Romaldi, Copper Liddle and Harrison Gould. These young players were fierce and really supported the team. Great players welcome for future games.

The spectators were in for a treat with this game. The game throughout was so close, Hahndorf maintained the ball at their end of the pitch but the goals did not match the work the team put in. Our strong attackers were Jacob Neumann, Stefan Panich and Damon Martin. These players were in top form. Jacob Neumann scored a great goal, but other attempts into the net were thwarted by Mt Barkers great goal keeper.

Our midfield players were Will Whiting, Toby Perkins, and Zander Romaldi. These players stuck to their opposition players, kept their eye on the ball, and passed the ball down to the attackers. The boys are playing so well together and work well as a team.

The defence was Elwin Alyin, Henri Thomas, Konrad Michaels, with assistance from Cooper, Harrison and Ben. Some great defence strategies were deployed by these boys. Henri was fast and furious down the side lines and was super focused.

Tom Boekel is our star goal keeper. He, as always, stopped many of Mt Barkers goal attempts. Tom has a real skill set in goals and is an asset to the team.

The game was so close the whole 80 minutes, with spectators on the edge of their seats.

The final score was 2:1 to Mt Barker but a great game to support or be part of.
