The Hahndorf under 17 team put in a great effort but unfortunately lost 4-2 to the Woodside Red team at the Woodside Recreation Ground.

Hahndorf started strongly with multiple attempts on goal by Toby Thomas, however the first goal of the day went to Woodside, quickly followed by a goal from Charlie Zorkovic for Hahndorf.  15 minutes in Woodside scored a second goal. This was followed by an attempt on goal from Nicholas Brown and Oscar Johnson which was saved by Woodside.  Mitchell Stribley, Gabe Aylen and Oliver Combe were all excellent in defence, intercepting and chasing down attacks. Tom Boekel saved multiple goals as Woodside continued their attack. Lewis Johnson and George Papakostas were solid in the midfield with Papakostas taking multiple corner kicks for Hahndorf.

The second half started with 2 quick goals from Woodside as they broke through Hahndorf’s defence.  Johnson, Johnson and Thomas combined for an attack on goal by Hahndorf but were unsuccessful. With Aylen moved into an attack in the second half, he, Oscar Johnson and Thomas all had multiple attempts on goal.  Oscar Johnson finally broke through late in the second half for a second goal to Handorf.

Hahndorf played well but were outplayed on the day. Congratulations to Woodside Red on their win.
