Match report

Standing on the bright and sunny Strathalbyn Polo Grounds, Coach Bill was enticing the team to play as strong as last week. He was encouraging the girls to not only give their all, but start the game at the same amazing place that they had finished last week. The two teams had never played against each other and the game was there for the Stirling District girls to take as their own.

Hannah Noonan took the the pitch as a first time goal keeper. Although she was hesitant she did a wonderful job of blocking just a few goals. Except for one goal that just snuck past her right hand side giving Strathablyn the first and leading goal of the game. This goal fired up the Stirling District side and they decided that this was not how they were going to let the day go! Polly Harrison took it on herself to even the score card and kicked a superb goal in the 11th minute to even the playing field. But, this wasn't enough for Polly! Keeping the ball to their half the Stirling team dominated their half of the field to with Polly score once again before the first half finished.

Bill kept his half time talk to the point, but ensured that all the team knew how to handle their positions. The two new team members Nora and Madeline displaying incredible ball handling skills and helped to move the ball across the half of the field for Stirling Districts. After weeks of moving the ball skillfully around the pitch Layla Preece decided that today was her day and she scored her first ever goal in the 37th minute of the game. Josie Fitch kept strong in her time as goal keeper but Polly Harrison took her moments to shine for the last three goals of the game - a new U13G record, for this team, of 5 goals in one game.

Well done to both of the teams for a wonderful display of talents and skills.
