Torrens Valley U10’s travelled to Hahndorf on a cold, wet and wintry day. Both teams opted to field 7 players with minimal subs to keep the players warm.

The first half started slow with the players still warming up. Hahndorf set the game in motion with a good strike at goals. Torrens Valley were managing to get the ball up in front of goals but were held off by some good defending from Hahndorf. Some great skills were shown when a Torrens Valley midfielder ran with the ball from the halfway line and kept the Hahndorf defence chasing, managing to have a strike on goal which was stopped by the Hahndorf goalkeeper. Hahndorf turned the ball around for a quick counter attack surprising the Torrens Valley defence and beating the keeper to score the first goal. The goal seemed to spur Hahndorf on who kept the attack up for the rest of the first half, scoring another goal for their team.

The second half displayed the slippery conditions with a spot of rain the players were finding it difficult to stay on their feet at times and were having trouble keeping hold of the ball. The Hahndorf attack remained strong with them taking advantage of the Torrens Valley defence being off their line to score. A lot of play was happening in front of goals for Hahndorf with majority of the possession. Hahndorf were granted a corner which was taken well but stopped by the goalkeeper. Hahndorf were then granted a free quick not far outside the goal box but some quick defence from the Torrens Valley side kept it outside of the goal area. Well done to both teams in some muddy and difficult conditions.
