Match report

With the beautiful autumn weather on our side, we were lucky to host round one on our own pitch in Hahndorf. 

With round one underway and our athletes playing their first game together this season, they came out strong moving the ball around keeping the pressure on at both ends. 

Pearl Beasley, Thomas Gould and Niko Moran were right amongst all the action showing great team work, passing the ball around and dominating the forward line. Defence was intense with Josh Blain, Archie Greene and Mason Saywell continually applying pressure to Mt Barker, with Ollie Ramsey displaying his talents ensuring the oppositions goal score was limited with his great keeping work. Jasper Christou, Dani Morgan and Harry Whitehead were essential in the middle, continuing calling for and retrieving the ball from the opposing team. Gould was on fire with a magnificent goal levelling the scores at half time.

The second half saw the pressure from both teams continue, Mt Barker with a quick lucky goal to set off there confidence. Arichie Keogh made Mt Barkers goalie work hard with a great shot at goal narrowly missing. Yit Xuan Chok, Henley Crook and Noah Duggan weren’t letting the pressure get to them with a solid performance and team sportsmanship. 

The final score didn’t reflect the consistent back and forward of the ball down the pitch, and was a good game enjoyed by all players and spectators for the start of the season.
