Was a cracker of a day to start the soccer season. Woodside Warriors U12 Blue met Mt Barker United U12 Red at Anembo Park. Kick off was at 9am and United claimed control of the ball fast. Warriors Eddie Moylan charged through the pack to take possession of the ball and send it towards Warriors goals which allowed Ryan Sutton to kick the first of the Warriors goals for the match/season 7 minutes into the game. Warriors were quick on their feet and kept control of the ball. Domenico Silvestri kicked Warriors second goal only 4 minutes after the first. Oliver Boerth stood his ground in defence stopping United getting very far with the ball and those that did get passed where then stopped by Warriors Mack Olsson, James Lunnon and Will Limbert. United started to tighten their defences and made Warriors work for their goals. With precise passes from Sidney Cotton, Max Davis and Poppy Thomas, Warriors Ryan kicked his second goal at the 23 minute mark and his third only 4 minutes after making half time score Warriors 4 to United 0. Only couple minutes into the second half Warriors Oliver Boerth intercepted United shot for goal and made a clever pass to James who ran with it towards Warriors goals. United defence worked hard to stop the goal and an own goal was scored when Sidneys kick was deflected. Both teams increased their defence and there were some great intercepts and tackles seen from both sides. Warriors goalie Barnaby Beven was not letting anything get passed him keeping United score as 0 at full time. United defenders did well deflecting Warriors shots for goal until player of the day Mack Olsson gained control of the ball and snuck it passed United goalie with just 3 minutes left in the game leaving the final score Woodside Warriors U12 Blue 7 defeating Mt Barker United U12 Red 0
