Round 9         Mount Barker Verse Woodside played at Woodside

It was a barmy 13 degree’s Celsius and the hairy cold had reduced our team to the bare 7, but the commitment of the remaining 7  was outstanding,

First half we had our group set up fairly with the hope of getting a goal for some of the players yet to score this season, it was a tussle back and forth and the number four on Mount Barker had been marked as being trouble.

For the first time this season our secret weapon had met his match coming in for a dribble straight past but to no success and beaten he went through kicking an unstoppable goal.

And the half continued with many chances our way, but not one through the net. Suddenly number 4 strikes again doing all the work from one end of the pitch to the other and then a final tussle with our secret weapon but getting a shot off past and taking out the victory.

The half time  score 2 Mount Barker 0 Woodside it was looking like we were in for a fight to come back from this.

Woodside put themselves into their strong positions and pushed forward, and pressed and pressed, but every time the number 4 got in the way, we had lifted, but at only enough to hold the score and were not able to creep back into the game even though we fought to the end and battled with all our might. Well done team, I feel you showed me fight that was better than some of our best wins, so well done Woodside and thankyou Mt Barker for a great match up.
