Hahndorf U8’s took on Mt Barker summit on a chilly but clear morning. Hahndorf were a little short of players, so kindly Mt Barker had two of their players pull on the black and white uniform. They did superbly, providing Hahndorf clearances through the middle of the pitch and chipping in where they could. The summit pitch is fast, which provided lots of opportunities for both teams to spread out and create plays. It was a fast flowing game from the start, with Will Neelawala converting early in a spectacularly weaving display of skills. Charlie Kilpatrick was strong as goal keeper in the first half, with lots of energy and some great saves. Kealan Atkinson and Eric Jager provided some good defence in the backlines, making it hard for Mt Barker to convert goals. The second half saw Jager pull on the goal keeper top, and ensuring again to make it difficult for Mt Barker. Zeek Neelawala continued with lots of play down the middle, providing some good balls to his brother, W Neelawala who kept on converting goal after goal. The game finished with Hahndorf on top, with each player chipping in and creating opportunities. Was a great team effort with everyone walking away with a big smile & some good memories made.
