Match report

The first game of the season was a cool and wet one at Home in Woodside. The U9 Blues, a mix of old and returning players, saw themselves finding and establishing postions naturally within the team which was excellent to see for their first time out together. Couch Shaun returning for his second year with the Blues, looking forward to implementing more structured positions this year.

Brand new comer to the Club Gage Erdmann was a standout in his very first game. Scoring his first goal from the very first centre pass of the game, to Goalie in the second half with no balls making it through. Well done Gage!

Another standout first timer Quinn Scott, scored 2 goals for the team. He slotted right in with natural forwards Liam and Adam as the trio worked together making multiple gains and shots at goal. Welcome Quinn!

Adam Masters moved up from playing 7's last year and proved that size is no barrier to great performance! He stole the show with his 3rd goal for the game, covering a half length of the field to score. From the noise made on the sidelines it appears we have an excellent cheering squad for the team this season.

Liam Harding also moved up from U7's and with multiple attempts as goal, showed he is one to watch as a striker.

Will Highson coming accross from playing U8 Whites last year showing he will be a great asset for the Blues in defence.

Ryalnd McDonough and Kaleb Ryan worked solidly together in the midfield as they did for the blues last season.

Daniel Ebdell, a natural defender performed exceptionally well as Goalie in the first half, with multiple attempts not getting past him.

U9 Blues appear to have a well balanced team of players, here's to them developing their skills and teamwork over the coming season!
