Woodside U9 blue got off to a flying start away at Bridgewater this weekend.  The team played Bridgewater late last season and they were a tough team to break down then.  Bridgewater showed the same resilience for this fixture, with the teams tied at half time despite Woodside having the better of the first half chances and restricting Bridgewater to a handful of attacks.

Woodsides focus on making sure our defence closed down the opposition as soon as they crossed the halfway line, coupled with some very promising link-up play between midfield and the forwards, meant that a breakthrough came early in the second half, which Woodside managed to maintain for the remainder of the game, and although Bridgewater threatened a few times late-on Woodside came away with a hard-fought win and a spring in our step to start the season.
