Match report
The U16's travelled out to Birdwood to play Torrens Valley. With no bench it was setting up to be an interesting game and a good opportunity to test out the boys fitness. Woodside started the better of the two teams and capitalised on their early opportunities. With Toby upfront there was no doubt he was keen to kick a bag. Woodside put the pressure on for most of the first half and resulted in lots of shots and corners to set up some goals. Torrens Valley's goalkeeper played really well to keep a few out but Woodside had a good lead at the half time break. In the second half, Woodside mixed it up and gave a few opportunities for defenders to play up front. It was unusual and you could tell they weren't quite naturals but it was good to see them get on the ball and take a few shots, even if some of them were offside. There were a few hat-tricks for Woodside to come away with from Ben Tyas and Asher Hammat and speedster Toby Christiansen scored 8. The positive for Torrens Valley was that they scored and had a few incredible saves but it wasn't enough and Woodside came away with the win.
