Match report
Woodside U13 Blue hosted Stirling United at home due to the excessive rain that has waterlogged United’s home ground. Historically the matches between these two teams has always been a great spectacle to watch.

This game didn’t disappoint and we witnessed an epic encounter that was played a frantic pace from the first whistle. It wasn’t long before United’s Sam Doyle put his first goal past Warriors Keeper Axel Vassos. Warriors’ midfielder Setup with fantastic pass from Josh Constable, Elliot Klein who’s work rate was at its usual high intensity, lifted and executed a delicious long ball strike which demonstrated that the Warriors weren’t going to let the game get away from them as it did last time the two sides met. Jamie Spooner, returning from a broken toe which had kept him out for the last 2 months provided the Warriors with their second goal. Doyle countered for Stirling and we went to the half break with the scores level. Troy Murray provided the Warriors with some fantastic defensive balance and was instrumental in providing some great counter attacks which allowed Josh Constable to get dangerously close to the United goal. Jordan Virgara linked up in the midfield with Klein and allowed the ball to be driven positively forward as the game played in between each teams midfield. Riley Vassos did a superb job of controlling United’s quick forward Corby Tucker and Thomas Constable mopped up and dangerous balls in dispute. Rojo Nambiar worked tirelessly intercepting United’s dangerous forwards proved to be a stubborn wall which negated attack after attack.

The Warriors hit the front through an expertly executed Klein penalty given for a handball in the box. With 20 minutes remaining, the Warriors kept the pressure on, continually searching for the extra goal in order to put the result beyond doubt. Untied fought well and were unlucky to not get rewarded for a number corners that they had won which were dangerously close to being converted. As we entered the last 5 minutes Stirling scored their final goal which ended in a highly entertaining 3-3 draw.
