Match report

Woodside Blue again played its friends and past teammates on a spring morning that threatened rain and storms which never eventuated.

For the first 10 minutes Woodside Blue pressured Woodside Red's defence but its structure and organisation repelled the Blues. Finally a Blues striker got through the defences and after his first attempt was saved by the keeper he followed it home and opened his account. The remainder of the half again saw the Woodside Red team defend well making it difficult for their opposition to find another way to goal. With only a few minutes to go the Blues got their second and a minute before the break they got their third. At half time Woodside Blue 3 Woodside Red 0

Both teams shuffled players and again Reds defended well but after a well taken corner by Blue the ball found the head of a player who headed it down to an incoming player and Blue had their fourth. While Blue continued to make opportunities and score Red made sure it was not easy. Reds defended till the end but Blue were just too strong on the day.
