Match report

Blustery weather welcomed the teams as Hahndorf faced Stirling Districts Blue in a fast paced and evenly matched game. The Hahndorf Under U15 team put in a strong effort to win 4-2 against a very capable and determined opposition.

Hahndorf started strong with an early attempt at goal by centre forward Lance Pope. Stirling Districts kept up the pressure and Angus Mifsud covered a lot of ground in defence. At the 12th minute, Toby Thomas netted the first goal of the day. Stirling Districts replied with an attempted goal which was well defended by Hahndorf goalie Thomas Boekel. Oscar Johnson worked tirelessly in the midfield with some fantastic passing displayed and Hahndorf managed to maintain control of the game with a second goal coming from Lance Pope. Stirling Districts replied with their first goal of the game soon after.

In the second half both teams kept up the pressure with strong defending from Zara Tinsley Smith and Rhys Davies. Alexander Romaldi shone in the second half with some very smart play from the backline. Jesse Powell scored Hahndorf’s third goal which was followed closely by a goal for Stirling Districts. Left forward, Mitchell Stribley demonstrated some great play and set up some fantastic shots. Boekel was kept busy with several spectacular saves as Stirling Districts fought hard to gain control, but another goal from Pope with only 5 minutes remaining in the match left Hahndorf victorious.
