Match report

With a number of players away, Hahndorf U8s needed all hands on deck as they faced Bridgewater. It was a perfect sunny morning as they lined up for the first half, with Ryan in goals, Hamish & Finn as key defenders, and Axel, Maisie, William & Levi up front. The first half was very evenly matched, with both sides having some opportunities, but every attempt denied a score with excellent  work by both teams’ keepers.

The second half saw Hahndorf buoyed by the arrival of new player Charlie, who worked with Axel & Finn to keep the pressure on with their big power kicks forward. William took over the gloves in goals and was tested by frequent forays forward by Bridgewater. Hahndorf did start to flag a little toward the end, with Bridgewater having plenty of fresh legs to call on from the bench, but they kept their heads high and tried their best.

Bridgewater were thoughtful and generous opponents and there was as many smiles on the spectators as the kids – thanks everyone for a great game.
